Introduction to Drawing

Grade 4-6
Children will learn to observe and record with confidence what they see in the world around them. They will learn the fundamentals of drawing composition, shading and perspective using a variety of materials and methods. This course is structured to give much individualized attention.

Build on the drawing skills acquired in Drawing 1 for kids. In this course the kids gain more confidence with their drawing as we explore how to make realistic renderings of places, animals and people.

Fun with Clay

Does your child love clay? By using the three basic ceramic hand building techniques (coiling, pinching & slab work) your child will explore their imaginations while learning important ceramic skills. In this class we will focus on both traditional ceramic forms as well as sculpture. Projects will include bud vases, tabletop stories & pumpkins. This class is open to children who have all levels of experience.

What a great way to introduce children to wheel throwing.  By alternating wheel throwing & hand building projects, children will gain confidence on the potter’s wheel without the frustration that can occur while learning a new skill. Due to the nature of wheel working & the flexibility of this class projects will vary but can include cups, bowls & vases. This class is open to children with all levels of experience.
