It’s all about you! In this week students explore and create art that represents them. Discovering your medium and your incredible abilities is just the beginning of learning about what makes you a unique and talented artist. Various art styles and mediums will be introduced to enable students to find their inner artist and showcase what makes them truly amazing. Take an artistic journey where you are the inspiration of the work you create.

Animal Week
July 10th - July 14th

Are you ready to explore the world in search of amazing animals! From blue oceans to green rainforest, you will be able to learn about the amazing wildlife that shares our planet. We will create art based on the unique features of truly incredible animals. From the stripes of a tiger, to the brilliant colors of butterfly wings, the student artists will find distinctive ways to use the magnificent qualities of wildlife as inspiration for their work. Various mediums from clay, paint, and fabric, to mixed media collage, and printmaking will be explored. Be prepared to create art and discover the world of unbelievable wildlife!

Fantasy Week
July 17th - July 21st

For one week only, a series of magical events happen at Kimball Jenkins School of art. Be amazed and come experience fairies flying and princesses exploring our enchanted gardens. Eyewitness gallant knights, fearless dragons, and wizards casting magical spells. Discover lifeforms from outer space and fantastic creatures from lands far away, while being a time traveler journeying to parallel universes and distant galaxies. Be brave and have fun escaping from reality and celebrating the realms of fantasy, sci-fi, and mythology through creative art projects and fantastic costumes.

Studio Week
July 24th - July 28th

Do you love art? Do you want to learn new ways to create amazing art? Well then come explore the art studios at Kimball Jenkins School of Art! In this week students get to learn how to create art in a variety of art styles and mediums. From painting, printmaking, and drawing, to mixed media, sculpture and ceramics, students get to expand their knowledge and creative abilities as artist. You will be amazed at the masterpieces you will be creating during this week of studio art. Be an artist and enjoy Studio Week.

Comics and Manga Week
July 31st - August 4th

Let’s bring amazing superheroes and cartoons to life! In this week students learn how to draw and create their own comics and cartoons. From Marvel Super Heroes to Disney princesses, as well as Star Wars, Minecraft and Pokémon characters, we will have fun creating in a week of celebrating the amazing animation, crazy cartoons, and the manga and heroic comics we all love. Get ready for adventure! Get ready to draw!

Great Artist Week
August 7th - August 11th

Let the art of the great masters inspire your creativity! In this week the students get to explore and learn about the masterpieces of the artist we admire. The works of art by Monet, Van Gogh, O’keeffe, and Picasso will be covered. Different mediums and styles of art will be introduced, which will allow students to improve their artistic skills and learn about the amazing world of art. From clay to paint and, students will get to have fun creating wonderful art and celebrating some of the greatest artist we all know and love. If you ever wanted to paint and draw like the masters, then this is the week for you. Be the next great artist.

 

 

Tuition Refund and Rescheduling Policies 
Full tuition must accompany your application for registration (with the exception of students applying for tuition assistance.) A $20 non-refundable registration fee will be charged to students being refunded for classes, camps and workshops.  A full refund will be granted to students whose class/workshop is canceled due to insufficient enrollment.

Frequently Asked Questions About Art School Summer Programs

What time does it start and how much does it cost?
9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Members $235 per week
Non-members $255 per week

Will we be working with clay?
Students will complete a minimum of 2 clay projects every week.

How do I register?
The Kimball-Jenkins office is open for registration weekdays from 9 A.M to 4:30 P.M. Please call 225-3932 or stop by our campus at 266 N. Main Street to register!
Registration is ongoing as long as space is available.

I work until 5:00, but the program ends at 3:00. Are there any after camp activities?
Yes! Kimball-Jenkins offers after camp supervision from 3:00 PM - 5:30 PM, for an additional $40 a week or $10 per day.
Before-care can also be arranged beginning at 8 AM. $5 per day or $20 per week.
Arrangements for before or after-care should be made through the office prior to the start of the week.

Will my 6 year old be in the same class as 13 year olds?
No! Each week has a common theme, but the camp is divided by age group so that the projects and instruction will be age appropriate, challenging, and fun. Instructors will tailor the program to individual students as much as possible, depending on their previous artistic experience. Children must have already been enrolled in a full-day kindergarten or first grade program.

What does my child need to bring?
Your child should wear clothes they don't mind getting wet or dirty. A bag lunch (refrigeration is available), sunscreen and any medication he or she might need.
