Artist of the Day- Claudio Botero (click on image to view individually)

There’s no information that I could find about this artist. These gates are beautiful. I ended up looking at a lot of wrought iron while researching. At first it all looks the same but after a while I was able to hone in on his aesthetic and began to understand why I liked it more than some. It seems to depend less on showyness. For me it is more expressive of the medium. It isn’t trying to make it something that it’s not. You know how sometimes when you listen to an aria by a soprano, or a violin solo…it gets to be all about showing how technically perfect the musician is. I’m rarely impressed. It’s amazing to be sure but often lacking heart.
