Lunch: 12:00-1:00pm | Presentation: 1:00-2:30pm

Did you know that plants can make music? Specialized equipment registers electrical impulses from living plants and converts them into musical notes and phrases. The plant’s unique biorhythms establish and steer the course of a melodic, spontaneous musical performance. The compositions created are always collaborative, always new, always live, and never repeated.

Join Aaron Jones and embark on a musical journey through the world of plant music. We’ll hear plants play music, and discover the technology and biological processes that make it possible. Feel free to bring along any favorite plants you’d like to hear play… you never know what they’ll sound like!

Aaron Jones is a composer and performer from Concord, NH, currently exploring the music of plants. With his project Bosey Joe, he creates and performs live electronic music with plants in all kinds of spaces—from greenhouses and forests to plant shops and bars and clubs. He has been performing professionally since the age of 16, and when he’s not making plant music he performs for families and kids as “Mr. Aaron”, bringing his high-energy and interactive music show to New England and beyond. He holds an MFA in Musical Theatre Writing from NYU.
