KJ ARTLAB meets weekly at Kimball Jenkins on Tuesday afternoons from 4:00PM - 6:00PM.
Artlab is held in the drawing studio of the big yellow building on campus and can be accessed from the door closest to our small yellow ceramic building.
There is no cost for attendance or materials.
We have room for 12 students at a time and admission is on a first come first serve basis.
We will use a positive youth development model which puts the students in charge of most decision making.
Recycled Models and Miniatures (April 9, 16, 23, 30)
Join us for a month of building diaramas, miniatures, and anything that can fit inside them! Over four sessions, students will explore cardboard building techniques and multiple decorating techniques for our miniatures. Led by our experienced instructors, students will jump into their creativity and produce models of their own. No prior experience necessary – just a passion for creativity and a willingness to experiment! All materials provided. Register now for this unforgettable artistic journey!
MODERN/CONTEMPORARY DANCE (Teen) with Kelly Doremus Stuart

This beginning/intermediate level dance class is designed for teens who love to move! Using the fundamental techniques and movement principles found in modern/contemporary dance styles, each class will begin with a structured warm-up followed by across-the-floor progressions, and center combinations. Fun exercises and dance/movement combinations will be set to music from a variety of diverse musical styles/genres. Combinations will include moving on different levels, exploring the use of the spine and breath, and shifts of weight. Creative dance/movement exploration will also be encouraged through guided, structured improvisation exercises. Every class will finish with a cool down/stretch. More information & Register.
CREATIVE DANCE AND BALLET with Jenny Foster

Come dance for the joy of it! In this class, students will learn and explore different elements of dance each week. Emphasis is on the joy of moving to music and rhythm as well as an introduction to ballet. We will spend plenty of time exploring the rich language of dance through guided improvisational and creative exercises, inspired by stories, songs, instruments, music, poems, and art. The goals for the class are that the children move their bodies with joy, discover new ways to express themselves through movement, and experience the beauty and power of dance in a positive and supportive environment. We will share our progress through a couple of in-studio performances for our families and friends in the Winter and the Spring.
