Working with Color Theory for Ages 15+ with Brian Moriaty - Summer

Date:
Mondays • July 6 - August 3 | 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Ages: Attendee must be older than 15 years old

This class is thoughtfully designed for students ages 15 and up

This hands-on course introduces students to essential color theory principles and expressive techniques through structured, meaningful art projects. Working with still life setups, photographic references, and the color wheel, students will develop confidence in choosing, mixing, and applying color to create visual depth, dynamic value, and overall impact across media.

Through a sequence of studio projects, including mixing paint to create a complete color wheel, studying light and shadow, and experimenting with mark making techniques such as stippling, cross-hatching, and shading.  Students will build technical skill, visual awareness, and artistic decision making skills.

Aligned with New Hampshire visual arts education standards that emphasize the use of materials, techniques, and processes to communicate ideas, as well as understanding and applying the elements of art (including color), this course supports learners in creating work that demonstrates intentional artistic choices and meaningful visual compositions.

Adult (15+): $125.00
