Craftivism: Needlework with a Message with Sienna Larson - Summer
Craftivism combines Craft and Activism using handmade work to share ideas, tell stories, and speak to issues that matter. In this six-week class, we’ll look at how needlework has been used in the United States for both personal expression and public messaging, from subtle statements to bold declarations.
After a short introduction each week, we’ll focus on designing and stitching your own project. You’ll work with a mix of materials and learn techniques to bring your ideas to life. Sienna teaches in a hands-on style, offering guidance as you develop your design and build your skills. All materials are provided. Come ready to dream, make, and create something that feels meaningful to you. This is a perfect intro class for those new to needlework and a great opportunity for experienced stitchers to try something new.
This class is part of Sienna’s series exploring 250 years of American decorative needlework.
