Ink and Watercolor with Marie Gervacio - Summer
Enter a world of line and flow. Learn line techniques that either help you get to the dark values in your watercolor quickly or play the leading role before or after a watercolor wash. Where techniques are woven into daily tiny art (using sketchbook from supply list or other teacher supplied materials) rather than tedious exercises which lead up to a larger painting of the student’s choice on the final day.
Basic fine art techniques as well as playful techniques are experimented with in a joyful manner. Demos, techniques, and inspiration impart the learning experience while leaving room for exploration and experimentation. Tools, mark making, washes/glazes, textures, color combinations, composition, and more are all covered for the beginner and reinforced for continuing students. The last class is a final project incorporating elements learned using the reference of student's choice.
Marie lugs in some of her art and stories with hopes of igniting courage to try something new and inspiration to see the things around you with a new lens. The process of any painting takes time to reach the ahhh moment where everything pops. Mistakes happen, fixing or incorporating them into the art is covered in the class with the hope that the student’s artful journey is a positive and meaningful experience.
