From Loss to Gratitude with Dania Jones - Summer
In this series, we will create a new collage piece to take home every week. Starting from a given prompt, we’ll build a mini personal collection based on the stages of processing loss in our lives while using the power of creativity to aid in our healing. We’ll work on our sensitive projects in a safe and meditative environment. There will be a broad diversity of provided materials, many of them reclaimed, to use and experiment with, and options for cutting, tearing, painting, stitching, stenciling, etc. Please, feel free to bring pictures and meaningful objects that you may wish to add to your work.
Each week is themed as follows:
Week 1: Who was I before my loss?
Week 2: What parts of me did my loss impact?
Week 3: What helped me stay afloat through my experience?
Week 4: What do I walk away with in gratitude?
Week 5: The letting go part
Week 6: Who am I now?
Supplies: Supplies will be provided by the instructor.
