This class is thoughtfully designed for adult students with a basic understanding of drawing fundamentals
Are you ready to create stunning art using some of the simplest materials available? In this class you’ll learn how to create realistic portraits on toned paper using pencil and chalk. We will begin with lessons on blocking in the drawing using solid measuring techniques to get proportions drawn correctly. We will then learn a variety of magical pencil techniques for drawing the look of different surfaces and capturing the likeness and personality our subjects. Using the toned paper as a middle value, we will work on developing dark values, working up highlights, and refining our image.
This class will be a combination of group lessons in technique, individual teachable moments, and plenty of time to work on your portrait project.
