Surely you have a cherished potato masher not being used because it has sentimental value or is too good to dispose of.  Bring it along to this 2-day class, and Kimball Jenkins faculty Jean Reed of Murray Hill Weaving will show you how to make it useful again as the handle in a unique basket.  Not only will your basket be sturdy and practical, but what a conversation piece it will become.

If you don’t have a masher you want to use, no worries! One will be supplied for you.  During this class, you will learn shaping techniques and row-on-row weaving.  Dyed reed will be available for embellishing.  Your basket will measure from 9 to 12” square and approximately six inches in height before adding the masher.

Some weaving experience is helpful, but beginners are more than welcome!

Supplies: Students should bring a hand towel, ruler, scissors, a pencil, and a clean spray bottle to class. Feel free to contact the instructor, Jean Reed at Murrayhillweaving@gmail.com with questions.
